Fulton brand single speed winches are specifically designed to meet demanding pulling requirements. Our winches are equipped with efficient gear ratios, as well as a "comfort grip" handle for easy cranking. All gears are made of high-carbon steel, ensuring exceptional strength and long-lasting durability. Additionally, the stamped carbon steel frames provide the necessary rigidity for gear alignment and extended cycle life. With an industry-leading 600 zinc plating, our winches offer outstanding corrosion resistance in all environments and have a 600-hour salt spray rating per ASTM B117.
For over 50 years, Fulton has been producing top-quality winches in the industry. Our winches are the result of engineering innovation, the use of superior materials, and rugged manufacturing. With the widest range of applications, Fulton winches cater to various unique needs. From the stylish and innovative F2 winch to a wide variety of one-speed and two-speed winches, as well as our rugged brake winches, we offer a style and capacity to meet virtually every requirement.
When selecting a winch, there are key considerations to keep in mind. This includes determining the environment (wet environment, saltwater), the needed capacity (Fulton winches range from 600 lbs. to 2100 lbs.), whether a single-speed or multi-speed winch is required, and whether a braking solution is needed to manage the load for safety and pay-out purposes.
For determining the trailer winch capacity needed, the weight of all items being pulled, such as a boat, motor, fuel, and gear, should be totaled and then divided by 2. If the total weight is 2,800 lbs., a 1,500 lb. winch would be required (2,800 lbs. divided by 2 = 1,400 lbs.). A different calculation is needed if using a steep incline launch, where the weight should be divided by 1.5 instead of 2 due to the increased load on the winch from the incline.
For lifting, the selection of a brake winch should be based on the amount being lifted. For instance, if lifting 1,450 lbs., a winch rated at 1,500 lbs. would be needed. Additionally, our 900 lb. capacity winch is designed to meet your toughest pulling demands. It features an efficient gear ratio, full-length drum bearings, oil-impregnated shaft bushings, and a 7-inch 'comfort grip' handle for ease of cranking. It is suitable for use with a 1/4 inch rope up to 36 feet long or a 2-inch strap up to 15 feet long.
